Corrie Mays is a Marine Corps veteran, small business owner, and active community member. As Co-Founder and CRO of Afterburner Wealth, she helps veterans build better futures for their families by ensuring they receive the full benefits they’ve earned and transforming that compensation into lasting wealth.

A Cape Cod native, Corrie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia. The tragedy of 9/11 motivated Corrie to become a Marine Corps officer in 2006. She excelled in flight school and was assigned her first choice, flying the F/A-18 Hornet out of MCAS Miramar where she also served as an Airframes Division Officer, completed one deployment to the Pacific, one combat deployment to the Middle East, served as the Air Watch Officer for 1st Marine Division and flew in many multi-national exercises around the world.

Corrie was then selected for the United States Navy Blue Angels in 2014, where she represented the Marine Corps as Blue Angel #8.  As one of the few Marines on the Team, she simultaneously coordinated all future operations for 130 flight demonstrations, multiple high visibility flyovers including Super Bowl 50, planned over 350 community events across the country, and had the privilege of building the Team’s airshow location schedule.

After transitioning to the Marine Corps Reserves, Corrie and her sister launched an award-winning small business. Around the same time, she and her husband, Gabe, began raising their two children while continuing her service as a reservist.

Her path to Afterburner Wealth was shaped by personal experience. Like many veterans, Corrie faced physical challenges during her service that she pushed through to accomplish the mission. Nearly a decade after filing her initial claim, she discovered her disability rating should have been higher, meaning she had been underpaid by tens of thousands of dollars due to a claims process that is complex and unclear. When Gabe calculated what that missing compensation could have grown into if invested (over $100,000!) they realized veterans deserve not only corrected ratings, but also better financial futures. Alongside co-founders Brad and Gabe, Corrie launched Afterburner Wealth to help veterans secure both.

As CRO, Corrie brings her extensive procedural, operational, business, and marketing expertise to optimize Afterburner Wealth’s internal systems and strengthen its external relationships. She remains driven by a simple but powerful belief: veterans and their families have already sacrificed enough, they deserve the wealth and security they’ve earned.
